B1SHOP EP by Duke & Maris

Back sooner than expected after January's full length, Duke & Maris serve up some slammin' dancefloor tunes for the warm-up into spring.

Asked what was on their mind in making the new ones, D&M say they've "been listening to a lot of Mouse on Mars" and wanted some IDM inflections and complexity that seduce and bewilder. GuGu takes some of those flicks and adds a cheeky electro bassline and lush house kicks. Isard goes off into harder industrial electro with a slamming synth bass and some slight D&B/breaks patter.

D&M say: "The title B1SHOP is a nod to some of the tracks being b-sides from [last album Isekai II: Hotel Lobby Core] and also just moving diagonally, making progress by going not ahead...and pinning Queens!"

B1SHOP is a winding number, with steady kicks and unexpected turns, with a jump-up side percussion that should pin all the queens to the floor. Final track Straysse hits some more of the IDM notes, with clattering percussion and trip-hop vibes that recall D&M's prior EP, Sabrina's Wave Runners.
